COST OF LIVING

The cost of living in Thailand can vary a great deal with costs being at their highest in the big cities and resort Islands. Here are some typical costs for Bangkok:

ACCOMMODATION:

5,000 Baht for a basic room near the sky train or underground station.

FOOD & DRINK:

Basic Thai meal: 30 – 50 Baht. Foreign food: 150 Baht +
Coca cola can: 15 Baht
Small Beer: 45 Baht

TAXIS:

A 5km taxi ride is about 55 Baht

GENERAL INFORMATION:

To live comfortably in Bangkok an income of around 35,000 Baht is needed. Outside of Bangkok and an income of 20,000 is sufficient. All of these costs are based on your lifestyle of course and those who like shopping or drinking will find that the big cities and beach resorts can be expensive.
